Justin Bieber has once again gone viral on the internet but his time it's not about Selena Gomez. The 'What Do You Mean' singer shades rising Canadian singer Shawn Mendes.
In an interview with New York radio station 95.5 on the segment "Ralphie Tonight", the 'As Long As You Love Me' singer shocked the DJ and the listeners with his answer when asked about his Shawn Mendes. Justin Bieber has no idea who the 'Stiches' singer is.
Ralphie asked Justin if he could give any advice for his fellow musician since they are both from Canada. Instead of addressing his question, the 21-year-old singer just gave an effortlessly icy statement.
"Who's Shawn Mendes?"
Surprised by what Justin Bieber said, the DJ explained who Shawn Mendes is and mentioned some of his accomplishments in the music industry.
"Oh! Oh wow, so you don't even...I thought for sure you might because he's also from southern Ontario," stated the DJ.
Bieber confirmed that he does not know anything about Shawn Mendes but he will check the new singer out.
"No, I don't know him, but I will check him out, for sure," stated Bieber.
Though the idea seems ridiculous since they are both in the music industry, it makes sense because Shawn Mendes is also not updated about the present happenings in the life of Selena Gomez's ex-boyfriend.
In an April interview, the Youtube and Vine sensation admitted that he does not want to be labelled as the "next Justin Bieber". The singer wants to be known for his own style and talent.
"[Justin's] stuff and style are totally different. When I play shows it's just me and the guitar, so it's kind of unique. I mean, I really look up to Ed Sheeran. I really look up to Bruno Mars, and yeah, Justin's great too," said the 17-year-old singer.
