Sam Smith revealed the tune for the theme song of the soon to be releases James Bond Movie 'Spectre'.
'Writing on the Wall' the new theme song from Sam Smith faced some mixed reactions from the social media.
The 23 year old" Stay With Me" hit maker announced to the public the highly anticipated track for James Bond Spectre and will serve as the opening theme for the said movie. The lyrics and sound of the latest James Bond theme leans more towards the love song category.
''I've spent a life time running and I always get away / But with you, I'm feeling something that makes me want to stay ... For you, I have to risk it all / Cause the writing's on the wall.'' He sings.
Sam Smith isn't worried, and does not really ain for the theme song to hit number one spot in the music charts.
Together with Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show Sam Smith said ''This song isn't a big pop song; it's a classic Bond song and that's what I wanted it to be ... I'm going to be completely honest, I don't think it will [go to number one]. It's not a number one friendly song."
''Who knows? But I'm not looking for that; that's really not what I want with this song. I just want to join the incredible list of people and do it justice.''
Some people were pleased by Sam in his comparison his new theme for Bond with the previous James Bond theme''Goldfinger''.
''Since I've been playing the song to certain people this week before its release, people have been saying it reminds them a little bit of 'Goldfinger,' which I didn't think about at all when I was writing it but that's good. That's kind of what we were aiming for.'' Sam Smith added.
The singer is however contented for the new theme of 007 but it has been met by mixed reactions from Bond supporters and lot of fans seem disappointed with the track.
Keith Tomlinson the grandfather of Louis Tomlinson a member of the boy group One Direction who is an avid fan of the movie is also disappointed.
As he posted on the twitter ''Is this the worst Bond movie theme song ever? Love Sam Smith. Hate the song. Yes. Truly the #writingsonthewall (sic)''
