Just a day after news broke of Cathriona White's apparent suicide, the Los Angeles Coroner's Office has just revealed some new and interesting details regarding the shocking death of Jim Carrey's girlfriend.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says that pills were found next to Cathriona White when authorities discovered her body.
Additionally, they also found a note - believed to be a suicide note - which reportedly includes Jim Carrey's name from the scene.
Ed Winter says that he has yet to see - let alone read - the said letter, so it's still unknown if the letter was actually addressed to the 53-year-old "Masterminds" actor.
Furthermore, an autopsy on the body of Cathriona White has yet to be conducted. Ed Winter says that toxicology reports typically need eight to 10 weeks before the official cause of death can be determined.
Cathriona White's family has also released a statement to The Irish Independent regarding the death of their "beloved daughter and sister." It read:
"The family of Cathriona White sincerely regret the untimely passing of their beloved daughter and sister. Cathriona was a shining light in our lives who was loved deeply by her entire family. We will miss her terribly and at this difficult time we ask to be left in private to mourn our loss. There will be no further statements on behalf of the family."
It was on Monday evening when Cathriona White was discovered to be unresponsive in her Sherman Oaks, California home. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The same day the news broke out, Jim Carrey had also issued a statement regarding his former girlfriend's passing:
"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
Jim Carrey and Cathriona White had met in 2012 and had been dating on and off since.
