Bradley Cooper On Jennifer Lawrence's Gender Pay Gap Rant: 'I Think It Is Making A Difference'

While promoting his new film, Burnt, Bradley Cooper stood by his friend Jennifer Lawrence who just recently spoke about the gender pay gap in Hollywood.

The 40-year-old actor who stars alongside Sienna Miller in the new drama expressed his admiration for his former co-star. "There's a double standard in the whole world, yeah, for sure. This is just one aspect," Cooper told Entertainment Tonight. "Anytime there's a place where a voice can come out and be outspoken -- something Sienna did, or Jennifer -- that's great. ... I think it is making a difference."

Earlier this year, emails from Sony Pictures were hacked and revealed that the 2013 Oscar Best Actress received less pay than her American Hustle male co-stars Cooper, Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner.

Lawrence opened up her disappointment for the first time in her essay entitled "Why Do These Dudes Make More Than Me?"

"When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with dicks, I didn't get mad at Sony. I got mad at myself," she wrote. "I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early. I didn't want to keep fighting over millions of dollars that, frankly, due to two franchises, I don't need."

"I didn't want to seem 'difficult' or 'spoiled,'" she added. "At the time, that seemed like a fine idea, until I saw the payroll on the Internet and realized every man I was working with definitely didn't worry about being 'difficult' or 'spoiled.'"

Now Cooper is proud that his Silver Linings Playbook co-star finally stepped up to this issue. "I love strong women," he said. "That's a very attractive thing."

Outspoken feminist Emma Watson also praised the 25-year-old actress by quoting Lawrence in her tweet. ''I'm over trying to find the "adorable" way to state my opinion,' she posted. "O Jennifer Lawrence I love you so."
