The second BBC Music Awards in December is set to be staged in Birmingham's Genting Arena and to be graced by the performances of One Direction, Little Mix, Ellie Goulding, and Mumford and Sons.
The much awaited ceremony will be hosted again by Chris Evans who expresses his good review of last year's event, "We had such a blast last year so I can't wait to get back on stage and relive this amazing musical year of 2015." He will be joined by Fearne Cotton.
It will also feature top notch performances from Take Me to Church singer Hozier, Jess Glynne and OMI.
According to BBC, there are more than 10,000 tickets available for the public; while nominees for the awards will be announced in the run-up to the show on December 10.
Last year's launch saw Pharrell Williams bagging two awards - Best International Artist and Song of the Year for his jumpy, bubbly, 'gospel-inspired' hit Happy. Ed Sheeran got the British Artist of the Year award beating Sam Smith and David Bowie. Newbies Catfish and the Bottlemen won BBC Introducing Award for Best act. For its second year, BBC is adding a new award to give away: Best Live Performance for a band or an individual who has superbly performed a "the stand out live moment" on the BBC over the past 12 months.
One of the invited performers, Jess Glynne, who has had three number ones for her song Don't Be So Hard on Yourself and Hold My Hand, couldn't hide her excitement as she was requested to perform again. "I was there last year at the inaugural awards, performing with Clean Bandit, and it was a great night, with a brilliant performance from Ed Sheeran among my personal favourites."
Jamaican-American star OMI, whose song Cheerleader became a summer favorite also said: "I'm extremely excited as usual. I love being in the UK and feeling the British energy. I can't wait to perform for my fans."
According to the press release in their website, there would be a series of BBC Music workshops and seminars that will provide guidance and advice to aspiring musicians.
