Pizza Hut Uses OkCupid Dating Profile to Hunt for the Ultimate Marriage Proposal

Love is in the air for Pizza Hut.

The chain is doing its part in uniting people with a common interest: pizza. ABC News reported that for Valentine's Day, Pizza Hut has set up an online dating profile on OkCupid to reportedly find "The One."

The franchise's profile describes itself as 55-years-old, "light and airy" and "tall enough," for those worried about height, with a "Ph.D in Delicious." It has a job in "delivering."

The profile noted that it is "looking for someone who brings outrageous enthusiasm to the everyday moments; the one with a zany sense of adventure and a rad personality."

The chain is sailing away from the usually extravagant flash mobs and elegant romantic dinner to find that special someone who will melt its cheese with a one-of-a-kind proposal.

By Feb. 21, Pizza hut fans must create a video "describing the ideal marriage proposal." The video must be submitted to Pizza Hut via Twitter or Instagram. The chain will then choose three finalists to visit its headquarters in Plano, Texas to face off in additional challenges.

The winning couple, which will announced on National Pie Day, March 14, will walk away with a lifetime of pizza, ABC News reported.

"Our fans are the best and they tell us all the time via our social channels that they want to lock us in for the long run. We think it's time to take that mutual feeling to the next level with a commitment," Caroline Masullo, Director of Digital Experience, Pizza Hut said. "Through the Commit to Greatness program Pizza Hut will accept someone's social proposal. We know our fans are one-of-a-kind and we are excited to see the out-of-this-world proposals we receive in exchange for a lifetime of free pizza."

Pizza Hut's partnership with the dating site is reportedly due to both companies trying to reach target young "millennial" customers, Courtney Moscovic, a spokeswoman for Pizza Hut, told ABC News.
