Ladies, It’s a Fact: George Clooney Will be Getting Married in Italy!

After the shocking announcement of his engagement to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin last April, Hollywood's most celebrated and coveted bachelor has confirmed they will be tying the knot in Venice within the next few weeks.

As Clooney and Alamuddin walked their first red carpet event together - the Celebrity Fight Night in Tuscany, where the actor was awarded the Andrea Bocelli Humanitarian Award from the very hands of the Italian tenor -, the Academy Award actor, filmmaker and philanthropist talked to the Italian press about his plans to wed his fiancée in the City of Canals. He spoke about Alamuddin as he accepted the award, saying they had met in Italy and ending the parentheses on a sweet note: "Amal, I love you to death and I cannot wait to become your husband."

The couple, who obtained a British marriage license last month, are reportedly exchanging vows this Friday at Chelsea Town Hall before heading off to Venice, in a ceremony that will only feature 60 close guests, including couple powerhouse - and recent newlyweds themselves - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; Clooney's 'Gravity' co-star Sandra Bullock and his 'Oceans' onscreen wife and close friend Julia Roberts.

For now, the best man's identity is kept a tight secret, but international press speculates the title might go to Matt Damon or Cindy Crawford's husband, Rande Gerber; however, Brad Pitt seems like the strongest contender, after Clooney's aunt Staria said she thought he'd get the third most important job in the ceremony.

As women all over the globe cry over Clooney leaving single life, they can't but agree he found a woman to match his talents: the Lebanese-born British lawyer is not only beautiful, but she is also an Oxford and NYU graduate and a United Nations adviser to Kofi Annan. So, it's safe to say the former 'E.R.' star is in good hands!
