Joseph Brucato, Postal Worker, Kept 40,000 Pieces Of Mail Due To “Personal Reasons”

Joseph Brucato, Postal Worker - There are shocking facts. When a person sees a mailman, they see a person who starts their job, collects the mail and delivers it. Not much more to it, except perhaps this case, where Joseph Brucato who worked in Brooklyn kept a large quantity of mail in different places without delivering it.

Joseph Brucato worked for the U.S. Postal Service and had a designated route in Brooklyn until this last Wednesday, Sept. 24th when he was arrested.

According to NY Daily News, the investigators found a quantity of mail that surpassed the ton in several places, such as his car, his locker and his home.

The suspicions on him started as his supervisor got to see mail that was kept inside Joseph Brucato's car when the postal worker is not supposed to actually make any deliveries on his car.

After that, the supervisor reported the fact and agents from the general inspector's office took care of the deal and asked about the case to Joseph Brucato, to which he responded, "he has been keeping mail for at least six months and on some days, he did not deliver the mail intended for his route due to personal reasons."

Later on, his attorney determined and justified Joseph Brucato's actions by saying that he suffered from depression.

As for the mail that wasn't delivered by the postal worker, there is an estimated approximate amount of 2,500 pounds of postmarked U.S. mail that dates back to 2005 and was supposed to be delivered by Joseph Brucato on his route, according to Special Agent Michael Wu.

This is one strange fact as the reasons for keeping other people's mail cannot be really understood. Material objects and letters that are what tends to arrive in the mail have a personal effect to the person who is delivered to.

The particularity is that in this case, it seemed to have some sort of effect to Joseph Brucato, the postal worker.
