Chelsea Clinton’s Amazing Wedding and Wedding Dress

Chelsea Clinton, daughter and only child of former US President Bill Clinton and Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, wedded her fiancé Marc Mezvinsky on Saturday, July 31, 2010 in a private ceremony hosted at the Astor Courts in Rhinebeck, New York.

The Astor Courts give an amazing view of the HudsCon River. The ceremony, though private was a huge affair as it saw about four hundred guests attend the reception. As expected, security was tight with the road to the venue being closed off, and the overflying area been banned, now that's presidential.

The beautiful bride Chelsea Clinton's strapless wedding gown was designed by the famous American designer Vera Wang, and it came complete with a belt encrusted with gems. For her bouquet, she chose moth orchids, all white.  The groom's tuxedo was designed by Burberry. The bride had a total of twelve bridesmaids, which is a large number by any standards. They also wore strapless gowns, made of lavender silk chiffon. Dresses aside, the wedding cake was a gluten free eleven-tier chocolate cake. It cost a whopping $11,000!

An interesting detail was that the wedding was presided both by a Christian Reverend from the Methodist Church, and a Jewish chaplain. This was because the bride was a Christian who attends the Methodist church while the groom was a Jew. The ceremony appreciated both traditions, in a show of understanding that the love birds came from different backgrounds.

Speculation about who would or would not attend had been rife before the wedding. The guest list included family, political allies like Madeline Albright and Terry McAuliffe. Family friends included the Hollywood actors Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen. Outstanding supporters of the Democratic Party were also invited, though significantly missing from the party's supporters list was Ted Turner, an avid contributor.
