The Top 18 Unhealthiest Fast Food Meals

Because our lives are fast-paced and every minute is passing by quickly, people tend to rely on things that would not take up a lot of time, particularly food. Now that we are a week in to 2016, it is just right to evaluate the things we eat, especially the fast food.

The Business Insider exposes the top 18 unhealthiest fast food items that you might be eating on a regular basis. These foods are tagged 'unhealthiest' based on the number of calories, fat, saturated fat, sodium and cholesterol.

People should not be concerned just because these foods make you fat, but the shockingly high numbers could really take a greater toll on your health.

TOP 18: STARBUCKS EGGNOG LATTE IN VENTI

Will you still feel Christmas-y after learning that this holiday in a cup has 630 calories, 28 grams of fat, 17 grams of saturated fat, a whopping 320mg of sodium and 195mg of Cholesterol? These high numbers are because of the two main ingredients of this drink-egg nog and whole milk. If your Christmas won't be complete without this drink on hand, try asking for low fat or skim milk as a substitute to at least trim down the calories.

TOP 17: KFC FRIED CHICKEN POT PIE

Though some people find this meal comforting for it reminds them of home, for sure you will be flabbergasted to know that one serving of this comfort food contains 790 calories, 45 grams of fat, 37 grams of saturated fat, 1,970mg of sodium and 75mg of cholesterol.

TOP 16: CHICK-FIL-A'S SAUSAGE BREAKFAST PLATTER

If you are a firm believer of the saying that you should eat like a king for breakfast and decided to gobble up Chick-Fil-A's Sausage Breakfast Platter, does consuming 810 calories along with 54g of fat, 20g of saturated fat, 1,850mg of sodium and 385mg feel like royalty?

Shake Shack is probably one of the household names for burgers. But did you know that this particular meal has 850 calories, 56 grams and 23 grams of fat and saturated fat, respectively, 1895 mg of sodium and 195mg of cholesterol? And you know you'd order fries and soda with it too. Just imagine the numbers rising even more.

TOP 14: TACO BELL'S GRILLED BURRITO

If you think that eating a burrito is as good as eating one complete meal, well you are probably right. But, with 860 calories, 41 grams of fat and 14g of saturated fat, along with 2,200mg of sodium and 65mg of cholesterol is as good as two meals altogether.

TOP 13: TACO BELL'S CINNAMON DELIGHTS

Desserts are practically the unhealthiest part of a meal, but having one serving of the Cinnamon Delights, 12 bites, are overly excessive with 930 calories, 53 grams of fat, 13 grams of saturated fat, 480mg of sodium and 40mg cholesterol. Now think about your breakfast lunch, dinner and snacks' nutritional value too.

TOP 12: SUBWAY'S FOOTLONG ITALIAN SUB

Despite the public knowledge that Subway is a healthier fast food among others, some of its sandwiches contain alarming number of calories, fat, saturated fat, sodium and cholesterol too. It has 960, 48g, 18g, a whopping 2,980mg and 100mg respectively.

TOP 11: CHOP'T COBB SALAD SANDWICH

The Cobb salad contains 610 calories already. Imagine eating it with bread which are more or less has 300 calories. Yet, some people think anything salad is healthy.

TOP 10: PANERA BREAD'S MAC AND CHEESE 

Given that everyone knows that mac and cheese is not the healthiest snack, it is still shocking to know that Panera Bread's version contains 980 calories, 61g of fat, 26 grams of saturated fat, 2,030mg of sodium and 125mg cholesterol.

TOP 9: CINNABON CARAMEL PECANBON

Just thinking of all the butter used in making a cinnabon is a give away of how unhealthy it could be. But the Caramel Pecanbon is way beyond unhealthy with 1,080 calories, 50 grams fat and 20 grams saturated fat, add to that 960mg of sodium and 25mg of cholesterol. Truly, this snack lasts a moment on your lips, forever on your hips (and heart).

TOP 8: MCDONALD'S BIG BREAKFAST PLATTER

What do you expect from a meal with eggs, a sausage patty, three pieces of pancakes, a biscuit and hash browns? If you had this for breakfast, you already got 192% of the daily recommended amount of cholesterol-in your first meal of the day!

TOP 7: WENDY'S DAVE'S HOT N' JUICY QUARTER POUND TRIPLE

This particular burger has three quarter pound burger patties in it!? One serving comes with 1,110 calories, 73 grams of fat, 30 grams of saturated fat, 1,990mg of sodium and 260mg cholesterol.

TOP 6: CHOP'T PANKO FRIED SALAD

With it's ingredients; romaine, panko fried chicken, avocado, Wisconsin blue cheese, croutons, and fried onions with olive oil and vinegar, this salad has 1,120 calories, 82.5g of fat, 20.5 of saturated fat, 1,615mg of sodium and 100mg cholesterol. Are you convinced that some salads are not always as healthy as you think?

TOP 5: BURGER KING ULTIMATE BREAKFAST PLATTER

With 1,130 calories, 55 grams and 12 grams of fat and saturated fat respectively, so much sodium-2,380mg and 320 mg cholesterol, there is no questions why this BK item is included in the top five.

The notorious Chipotle Burrito has 1,410 calories, 68 g of fat, 23.5 g of saturated fat, 3,020 mg of sodium and 135mg of cholesterol. It is the sum of carnitas, white rice, black beans, lettuce, cheese, fajita vegetables, corn salsa, tomato salsa, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole wrapped in a "warm hug". You'd definitely feel warm after that incredibly high intake of calories and sodium!
