Millenials, Get Ready! Hi-C prepping For Ecto Cooler Revival

Those who grew up during the 1990s may experience nostalgia whenever HI-C Ecto Cooler is mentioned. Some may remember sipping on Hi-C Ecto Cooler for their snacks. Now, millennials may now have the chance to be able to taste the citrus drink again as there is speculation that a revival of the juice line is on the horizon.

According to PopSugar Food, Twitter account Resurrect EctoCooler has posted that there is a can of the "product sample of the 2016 revival" for sale on eBay.

The sample is no longer available however though there are many collectible cans with inedible content sold on the Internet, including one priced at $233.

Should the news be true, it will not be the first time that a product popular in the '90s will be revived.

According to MTV, in 2014, Coca-Cola re-released Surge, another snack staple during the '90s, overwhelming Amazon's servers and selling out immediately.

Ecto Cooler first started as a tie-in to the "Ghostbusters" animated series during the late 1980s. However in 2001, Coca-Cola discontinued the product line. The campaign to revive the popular juice brand was started as soon as news of a new "Ghostbusters" movie hit the Internet.

The new "Ghostbusters" film is fronted by four female actors (Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones) for a July 15, 2016 release. Other cast members include Chris Hemsworth, Charles Dance, Neil Casey, Andy Garcia, Elizabeth Perkins and Michael K. Williams. It will be directed by Paul Feig and is produced by former Sony Pictures' CEO Amy Pascal and original film producer Ivan Reitman.

There has been no confirmed news yet about the product's return but the speculation has stoked interest especially those nostalgic about their favorite childhood drink. Let us know below what you think of the potential comeback of Ecto Cooler.
