Just last year, we saw hot cocoa bombs, tea bombs, and even wine bombs. All of which were beautiful and innovative creations that went viral over the internet. This year, according to Taste of Home, this discovery is called broth bombs, and they are the perfect way to bring flavors to your soups and stews.

What Are Broth Bombs?

According to Raise Vegan, broth bombs are a seasoning mix shaped like a bath bomb that can be added to soups and stews. Contrary to what many assume, broth bombs are not the mainstream mix seasonings found in grocery stores. It can be described as a standalone mix of spices and seasonings for a more innovative cooking experience.

In preparing a dish, there is always a need to use several different spices or seasonings. As a result, we are left with half-opened packets of seasoning left in the pantry until the next time we find a use for it. Some of it may even be left forgotten until it expires. This is why broth bombs are regarded as a useful and economical innovation that can change the way we cook.

They come in eight different flavors that are made from spices, herbs, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and salt. Once they are placed in soups and stews, a fizzy explosion of flavor seeps into the ingredients of one-pot dishes follows.

Aside from its fascinating purpose and appearance, the flavors for these broth bombs were also cleverly named. The eight flavors include the following.

  •  Drunken Dare - has vibrant basil doused in hot red pepper. Spiced Antiquity - described as earthy, aromatic, and deeply spiced. This will keep you warm and cozy.
  •  Stone Broke Dharma - is a hybrid of garam masala and the classic curry for all chickpea lovers.
  •  Scarborough Fair - is a melody of familiar fragrant herbs.
  •  Drops of Jupiter - consist of savory sage with a touch of sweetness and a pinch of black pepper.
  •  Speckled Rain - contains classic chili seasoned with mild peppers.
  •  Gesundheit - contains four spices proven to reduce inflammation, which are ginger, turmeric, rosemary, and cloves.
  •  Ryeless Red Reuben - has a fantastic fennel flavor from your old deli favorite.

Each of these broth bombs can make 16 bowls of soup, stew, chili, or curry, which equals 5 to 6 meal portions. Cutting them in half can make at least 2 quarts of stew or soup. These broth bombs are vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, and low in sodium.

Makers Of Broth Bombs

The makers and founder of broth bombs were a couple from Florida. Andrew had a background in economics and entrepreneurship and previously operated a top restaurant delivery service in Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, his wife, Renee, had an accounting background and offered culinary expertise to create their products.

The couple created broth bombs when they went plant-based. In addition, the creation of broth bombs is their way to contribute to a greener, healthier, more peaceful planet.
