Other Southeast Asian nations, including Vietnam and Thailand, where snakes are typically a strong culinary tradition centered on snakes that are farmed for consumption. Snake stew has been a popular dish among some diners in Hong Kong and throughout southern China for a long time, particularly during winter.

According to a proverb in the local Cantonese dialect, the optimal time to consume a snake is when the autumn breeze starts blowing, and the snakes have gained weight in preparation for hibernation. The snake's meat is believed by many to possess medical virtues, including the ability to improve skin ailments and warm the body.

Moreover, Pizza Hut, an American corporation, has recently collaborated with Ser Wong Fun, a snake restaurant located in Central Hong Kong that has been around since 1895, to develop the most recent recipe. CNN took a bite out of the pizza and discovered that the texture of the snake was comparable to that of dried chicken. Before the dish went on sale last week, Pizza Hut Hong Kong stated that the nourishing meat can promote blood circulation, a widespread notion in traditional Chinese medicine. After being paired with cheese and chopped chicken, the taste of the snake flesh becomes more pronounced. The combination of pizza and this dish reportedly represents an abrupt change from the usual understanding of what it means to maintain good health while simultaneously posing a challenge to one's taste buds.

Furthermore, a snake soup dish that is widely consumed, especially during this season, incorporates black mushrooms, shredded snake flesh, and Chinese dried ham into the nine-inch pizza. According to the South China Morning Post, the pizza is coated with neither too runny nor thick broth, done in place of tomato or cheese sauce. In addition, the Asian fusion dish will be available for purchase in Hong Kong for a price of HKD186, which is equivalent to S$32.40, from Nov. 2 to Nov. 21,

Other Unusual Pizza Hut Menu

There have been other instances in which Pizza Hut restaurants in Asian nations have altered their menus to reflect the cuisine of the local community. At one point, Pizza Hut Taiwan released pizzas covered with durian, pig blood curds, and preserved eggs. On the other hand, Pizza Hut Japan developed a pizza topped with tonkatsu ramen and swine bone broth ramen.

As per Wion News, in July 2023, Pizza Hut also made an unexpected and difficult decision by allowing people of mainland China to add stinky tofu to their pizzas, which were only available for a week. A classic Changsha stinky tofu that had been fermented to a dark black color and served with creamy yellow durian was incorporated into the odd creation. This out-of-this-world pizza was topped with a flavorful garnish of garlic and chili peppers. Thus, in Chinese social media, a significant number of customers who were drawn to the peculiar mixture claimed that it has an odd sounding name but is fantastic in terms of flavor.
