It's time to check your pantry and take a serious look at any Quaker Oats products, including family favorites like their Chewy Granola Bars and Cap'n Crunch cereal. The company has issued two recall notices in two months for products potentially contaminated with salmonella. This bacteria can cause serious illness, especially in young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. While no illnesses have been linked to the recalled items, it's crucial to remain vigilant.

What's Recalled:

  • First Recall (Dec. 15th): Granola bars and cereals were the main items.

  • Second Recall (Jan. 11th): The list expanded to include snack mixes, additional cereal varieties, and protein bars.

What To Do If You've Purchased Quaker Oats Products:

  • Check your pantry: Review the full list of affected products and discard any that match.

  • Be aware of symptoms: Look out for fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, especially if you recently consumed a recalled product. Seek medical attention if you suspect salmonella poisoning.

  • Stay informed: Quaker Oats has a dedicated recall website with detailed information and consumer contact options.
