Kidney Stones: Lots Of Water And An Appropriate Diet Might Be Preventive

Kidney Stones - Physicians have recommended some new advices to get the kidney stones to decrease in people who suffer them.

What produces kidney stones in the body is the accumulation of some solid materials in the kidneys. Sometimes a person might not feel them and other times, they might suffer from a poignant pain due to them.

Some of the consequences they produce are harm to the kidneys, although that might seem kind of obvious, and bleeding at times as well, the ACP (American College of Physicians) noted.

Like most diseases, virus, etc. kidney stones are likely to appear once again. Most times, when a person has a certain disease, it's likely that the disease might return at some point.

With kidney stones, the same happens. If a person has one, it's likely that they will have another one again. For that reason, the ACP developed these recommendations in an attempt to reduce them.

The strongest recommendation is to drink water. Lots and lots of it. The ideal quantity would be of two liters per day, of water or another fluid.

"The reason that water is supposedly helpful is that it's a mechanical flushing process so that stone fragments can pass but also so the urine doesn't sediment in the kidney and collect," Dr. Elizabeth Kavaler, a urologist, told CBS News.

This is not exactly something completely new. Water is always key for most things. Not only diseases, but for the well-being of any person, it's what's most necessary to be consumed.

The other key element to maintain is a productive diet; basically, trying to reduce red meats also on dietary oxalate, which is found for instance, in chocolate.

In addition to this, and to clear out the "fluids," soft drinks should also be reduced. All the sodas are not healthy in excess, so as far as possible, they should be eliminated.

The truth is that these stay as recommendations. They are not sure facts to solve kidney stones, they are simply aids to try and reduce them.
