More than 57,000 frozen burrito bowls sold at Target stores across the United States are being recalled after reports that they may contain shrimp, which is not listed on the label.

The recall was announced on September 10 by One Frozen, LLC, the company that makes the "Good & Gather Southwest-Style Burrito Bowl Blend."

The product, sold in 12-ounce frozen bags, could be dangerous for people with shellfish allergies, FoxBusiness reported.

According to the FDA, shrimp was not declared on the ingredient label, which is required by law. Eating the burrito bowl could lead to a serious or even life-threatening allergic reaction for those sensitive to shellfish.

The recall follows three consumer complaints about shrimp possibly being in the product. No one has gotten sick so far, but the recall is being done as a safety precaution.

"This product may pose a serious risk to people with shellfish allergies," the FDA said in its announcement. "Even a small amount of shrimp can cause a dangerous allergic reaction."

Good & Gather Burrito Bowls Pulled from Shelves in All 50 States

The recalled burrito bowls were sold under Target's Good & Gather brand and were available in all 50 states. They began arriving in stores on April 17, 2025. Around 57,240 units are part of the recall.

If you have a bag in your freezer, check the details on the back. According to Today, the recalled items have the UPC code 085239931356 and the following lot codes:

L5055-1, L5055-2, L5055-3, L5055-4, L5055-5, and L5055-6. They also have a "Best if Used by" date of August 24, 2026.

One Frozen, LLC is working with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to handle the recall.

If you bought one of the affected bags, do not eat it. The FDA recommends throwing it away. If someone in your household is allergic to shrimp, be extra careful.

Customers can get a full refund by contacting Target Guest Relations at 800-440-0680.

Shellfish allergies are one of the most common and dangerous food allergies. The FDA says they can lead to anaphylaxis, which can be deadly without quick treatment.

Around 1 in 20 US adults has had a severe allergic reaction like this at some point.
