Amanda Bynes continues to have troubles with the law, after a DUI arrest, two hit-and-run accidents, and smoking what appeared to be pot while driving with a suspended license. Friends are expressing concerns that Bynes is suffering with a mental illness and neither acknowledges it or seeks help.
Members of her local West Hollywood gym say they've seen Bynes' suddenly stop and begin to "laugh hysterically for no reason." TMZ reports that one of Bynes' neighbors described her as "having long conversations with inanimate objects." Other neighbors view media reports as being misleading, that in fact Bynes is not a hard-partier as the media has reported.
Friends say that they are helpless as they see the 26 year old actress on a downward spiral. Those close to her say she has refused any kind of rehab or treatment and has lost touch of reality.
Bynes is due in court on September 21 for her DUI charge and September 27 for her hit-and-run charges.
Interviews in the past with Nickelodeon star indicated that she was not lured to the party lifestyle typical in Hollywood.
