Google Unveils Most Popular Halloween Costumes in 2015

Halloween is fast approaching and many people are now starting to make their costumes ready.

In line with the upcoming event, Google Canada has unveiled that the most popular Halloween costumes for this year, ranging from cartoon characters down to the United States presidential candidates.

Halloween is a yearly observation practiced by many countries on October 31. Since the event is now days away, the number of Internet searches for good costumes are also increasing.

Google revealed that most of the Canadians are visiting Google in order to search and find costumes for the said event. As what the American multi-tech company stated, half of all Halloween searches in the last five days before the Hallows' Eve are coming from the Canadians.

One of the most searched costumes include Harley Quinn, a major adversary of Batman in the comic series. Disney's "Big Hero 6" robot named Baymax is also in the top search.

Surprisingly, Donald Trump who is a businessman and is now aspiring to be the new president for the US is also among the top costume searchers on Google.

Aaron Brindle stated to CTV's Canada AM that the search is actually just getting started.

"We're actually just starting to see searches go through the roof," said by the Google Trends expert.

Other widespread costume searches include The Joker, Steam Punk, Cruella Deville, Minions, Mad Max, Star Wars, Minecraft, Princess Peach, Black Widow, Left Shark, The Purge, Dead Pool, Batman, Pirates and many more.

On the other hand, another prevalent search topic now circulating on the Internet is Halloween makeup tutorials. It was revealed that Canadians are highly fascinated in what they call "sugar skull" makeup. The said makeup contain flowery designs which were prominent in the 'Day of the Dead' celebration in Mexico.

According to Brindle, Halloween makeup searches increase to about 30 percent for the past years.

In terms of Canada's horror films, to top searched include the movies "It", "Alien", "Carrie", "Halloween" and "The Birds".
