'Wonder Woman' News: Chris Pine Can’t Wait To Play Diana Prince’s Boyfriend On Gal Gadot Movie, Here’s Why

A few months back, "Wonder Woman" news revealed that ridiculously attractive human and "Star Trek" star Chris Pine had been confirmed as part of the cast of the 2017 adaptation of DC Comics' most famous heroine, and now, the star is speaking out about the role.

As previous "Wonder Woman" news has revealed, Pine will be playing Steve Trevor in the upcoming film, the boyfriend of the Amazon princess, and he's actually more than excited about being part of the Gal Gadot-starring film, part of Warner Bros' grander scheme to bring the DC Comics universe to the big screen.

Speaking to French magazine Premiere in the latest "Wonder Woman" news, the "Into the Woods" star spoke about how excited he was to be part of such a huge film for women, as he's the one relegated to the "smaller" human role, with undoubtedly Gadot being the primary star.

"What excites me most is to work in a movie with a superhero woman. With a woman in the lead role," the 35 year-old star told the publication in this "Wonder Woman" news, through a translation by fan website Batman-News. "I am teamed with this intelligent, beautiful and strong woman to defeat the villains and save humanity."

As Cinema Blend reports, previous rumors have said that DC had courted Pine for two different roles, this one and playing Green Lantern Hal Jordan for the 2020 remake of "Green Lantern" - and it appears he not only preferred to play Diana Prince's boyfriend, in all, he's quite happy to have been taken off superhero duty to portray a human character.

Steve Trevor has been part of the DC universe for as long as the woman with the Lasso of Truth has, both making their first appearances in 1941.
