Hashtags #MuslimsAreNotTerrorists, #NotInMyName and #IAmAMuslim: Muslims Speak Out Against Paris Attacks

Did different beliefs separate people from one another? November 13, 2015 is now marked as one of the most tragic day in history. 

To show their solidarity with France and that Islam is a religion of peace, the "#IAmAMuslim and I condemn the Paris attacks" is now a trending hashtag among the Muslim community when they turned to social media to express their grief. 

After the attacks in Paris that happened on Friday night, Muslims have taken to Twitter to show their support for Parisians and to show that the terrorists are not a part of Islam.

As per The Telegraph, it was reported that there were seven apparently co-ordinated terrorist attacks in the French capital and it seems that Isis have taken over the responsibility for the said incident. 

People from all over the world, coming from all walks of life have also expressed their support and sentiments through various platforms: Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. 

Several Muslims have used social media as a platform to reiterate and show that they dont want to take part in the extremism and violence that the terrorists had done in the name of Islam.

The hashtags that say #NotInMyName and #IAmAMuslim are now being used to show to the extremists that they will never be tolerated as their messages of hate contradicts to the teachings of the Islamic religion.

Some Muslims also expressed their sentiments as they use the hashtag saying that #MuslimsAreNotTerrorists. Furthermore, Muslim leaders from all over the world have also conveyed their solidarity to the said incident. As such, many people are also urging everyone not to blame religion for what happened.
