John Lennon's 'Imagine' Performed By Coldplay And A Mysterious Pianist As Tribute To Paris [WATCH]

"Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for and no religion too. Imagine all the people Living life in peace."

This John Lennon song was Coldplay's tribute to Paris immediately after the news of terror attacks broke Friday night when the band was set to perform at Los Angeles' Belasco Theater. The British group initially planned to play new songs from their upcoming album A Head Full of Dreams but decided to relive their classics in acoustic versions in honor of the tragedy.

"Tonight's live stream for TIDAL & KROQ has been postponed out of respect for the terrible events in Paris," the band announced on their website. "We'll play a short set of old material so that your journey isn't wasted. We send our love and prayers to the people of Paris."

The band's frontman Chris Martin led a moment of silence during the concert and sang their greatest hits such as "Sparks" and "Fix You".

Another European, pianist Davide Martello also did an instrumental rendition of the same 1971 hit in the wake of the attacks. The heart-warming performance of John Lennon's "Imagine" is Martelo's contribution to those who grieve for the lives lost in front of Bataclan Music Hall where mourners gathered.

"I can't bring people back but I can inspire them with music and when people are inspired they can do anything," the pianist who performs under the name Klavierkunst told The Guardian. "That's why I played Imagine."

"I got to the end of playing Imagine and just couldn't carry on," he said. "Even if I wanted to it was just too emotional."

The German musician was watching the France vs Germany soccer match in a German pub in Konstanz when it was interrupted by a suicide bombing outside the stadium. That's when he decided to travelseven hours to Paris with his grand piano via bicycle.

"I just knew I had to do something," he added. "I wanted to be there to try and comfort, and offer a sign of hope."
