Peaches Geldof Death: Body Found Next to 11-Month-Old Son

The body of Peaches Geldof was found with 11-month-old son Phaedra by her side, according to the U.K.'s Sun.

Geldof was reportedly found by a friend after her husband, Thomas Cohen, tried to get a hold of her. Reports stated that the mother-of-two failed to answer his telephone calls at their home in Wrotham, Kent. Cohen reportedly asked the friend to go check on his wife and after finding her unresponsive the friend called the police.

Geldof's death mimics the death of her mother Paula Yates 14 years earlier. Yates was found dead of a heroin overdose with then 4-year-old daughter Tiger Lily by her side. The family is hoping that Phaedra will not be left with any emotional or psychological scars.

"The hope is that Phaedra was so young he wasn't aware of what was going on," a family source told the paper. "The most important thing is that he's OK. It is devastating for Tom that he wasn't there but it couldn't have been avoided."

The 25-year-old daughter of rock legend Bob Geldof has been active as a model, television presenter and fashion writer. An autopsy proved inconclusive pending the results of more tests. Funeral plans are in the works.

Geldof death was confirmed by her father who released a statement on Monday on behalf of their family.

"We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing 'was' destroys me afresh," read the statement. "What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."

Geldof also leaves behind two young sons, 23-month-old Astala and is survived by her sisters, Fifi Trixibelle and Pixie and her half-sister, Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof.

"My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday," Cohen said in his own statement. "We shall love her forever."
