Taylor Swift Donates $15K To A Firefighter's Family

Country singer turned into international pop singing sensation Taylor Swift did it again with her acts of charity to her fans and this time, she donated $15,000 to an American firefighter on Wednesday, June 10.

BBC News reported that Aaron Van Riper, the firefighter responded to a call involving a car crash but little did he know that it was his own wife and child who were involved in it and they were seriously hurt. His wife and kid are now recovering but the problem was the bills that they have to pay in the hospital. That's when a friend of them set up an account on a Crowdfunding site called GoFundMe to help raise money for the medical bills.

Amber and John Van Riper were the ones who unfortunately met with that horrifying accident. Aaron flew his family all the way to Houston using a helicopter to save their lives. WFMYNEWS2 has the details of the car accident and it was a Buick and a Dodge pickup that collided when another vehicle crossed the centerline. Three people were injured and all of them were rushed into the hospital.

The firefighter's wife was still in trauma ICU as of Wednesday according to the family. Now, the crowdfunding has gathered some help from friends and family members, but came Thursday morning, a $15,000 was said to be donated by Taylor Swift. The fund raising goal is that it goes up to $125,000 and now they are just $45,000 short to fulfill it.

Van Riper is grateful for the amount they received because in an interview with KHOU, "Not a lot of people are just drop that." The site is trying to get a hold of Swift's rep confirming if it was really her who gave it, but they haven't replied as of now.
