6 Gripping Films You Shouldn't Miss this October

October is just around the corner and an entire batch of awesome movies is coming your way. No matter your taste, at least one of these should appeal to you. Without further ado, here are the top six movies to watch out for next month:

1. The Martian

This highly anticipated film stars Matt Damon as an astronaut who is mistakenly left for dead on Mars, Movie Web reported. The movie is described as Saving Private Ryan with a galactic twist. The movie is accurate (or entertaining) enough that it was screened to astronauts onboard the International Space Station. Will be showing on October 1 in Argentina, October 2 in Canada, and October in Russia.

2. Bridge of Spies

Based on a true story, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg reunite to tell a Cold War spy thriller. In the 1960s, Francis Gary Powers' U2 spy plane was shot down over Soviet Union airspace. In the movie, Tom Hanks plays a lawyer trying to negotiate the release of the captured pilot. Will be showing on October 15 in Chile, October 16 in the US, and October 22 in Australia.

3. Beasts of No Nation

This is the movie adaptation of the 2005 novel by Nigerian-American author Uzodinma Iweala which details the plight of a boy soldier. This is also Netflix's first feature film starring Idris Elba as a warlord and Ghanaian actor Abraham Attah as the orphan Agu. The film will be released simultaneously in online and cinema platforms. Will be released on October 16 in Austria, Germany, and the US.

4. Macbeth

The movie will be the first big budget adaptation since Roman Polanski's 1971 film of the same name. Starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, the movie has a "bloody-sticky" vibe to it that makes it "as good as Shakespeare on film gets," BBC reported. It will be released on October 1 in Australia, October 8 in Greece, and October 28 in Hungary.

5. Spectre

The newest Bond film has a lot to offer. For one, it is targeting Marvel fans with the resurgence of a behind-the-scenes organization bent on world domination, much like Hydra. Daniel Craig is still agent 007 with Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci as Bond girls. Also, double-Oscar award winner Christoph Waltz is the villain Franz Oberhauser. Spectre is due for release on October 26 in the UK, October 29 in the Netherlands, and October 30 in Norway.

6. Steve Jobs

Starring Michael Fassbender again, this time he transforms into the iconic Apple co-founder. It is written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and follows Jobs through three product launches which had become integral to the brand. The movie will be released on October 8 in Australia, October 16 in Canada, and October 23 in the US.
